Don't hurt your reputation by allowing yourself or someone to smash it. When you being marketing online always promote products and services that you believe in 100%. It really ticks me off when I see marketers promoting products that they have never used themselves or wouldn't ever use in the future.
Recently I was recommended a product by a well know internet marketer and when I purchased the product I was very disappointed. The product was riddled with bugs and problems since day 1 and I ended up asking for a refund. The customer support was horrible and overall I did not have a good experience. Since then my trust in the fellow internet marketer that recommended the product to me has been forever shaken. I always test and use the products or services that I recommend "before" I tell people about them.
When you recommend a product you are putting your stamp of approval on that product. In essence you have attached your name to that product even though you didn't create it or own it. And when you recommend a bad product that can hurt your reputation as business person and it can lower the trust of your followers.
Don't take the easy route and promote everything under the sun just to make a buck. When you are creating a loyal following on the internet you will want to build trust and respect with your web site visitors and email subscribers and this wont happen if you recommend bad products.
Not only do you have to do your research with the product you are promoting but you should also do your research with the company. It doesn't matter if the product is awesome because the company running the show can be horrible. You should always research full circle and check all your bases.
When you are recommending a product always do your research and make sure ...
- Is the product packaged well? Does it look professional?
- Is the custom support for that product superb? Try submitting a support request under a fake name and see if you are taken serious and how fast you get a reply.
- Has the company been around a long time? Do they have any experience online and if so, what other products have they created and what has their success been like?
- Does the product second guess what you teach your web site visitors. Does the product compete with you in any way?
- Do you feel comfortable attaching your name and brand with that product. Are you willing to take the heat if the product flops?
- Does the company selling the product you are recommending lie in any way about the results of their product or earnings. Have you seen proof of any of their claims?
These are all great things to consider before recommending a product. Make sure you always do your research before you recommend a product and remember; just because you may not have created the product doesn't mean it can hurt your reputation. Always promote what you believe and your
